FIVE fake Paquebot markings, all different. The first two straightlines in two different colours, the third example appears to be an UNLISTED fake with straight “PAQUEBOT” inside a straight edged oval “Papeterie du bon marque Paris”. oval cogwheel design with the same “PAQUEBOT” and finally the fancy “S.S. River Dennis Cape Breton, NS”. You will note that the covers are addressed to South Side River Denis and occasionally SS River Denis. This allowed the forger to trick collectors into thinking that “South Side” represented “Steam Ship”. Stulberg wrote an article about these.
