1855 Montreal, LC (JY 23) to Glasgow, Scotland, ms “1/2” Stg, ms “Pacific Steamer for Liverpool”. Carried on the Collins line “Pacific” during the so called Crimean War rate era, where Cunard steamers were used to transport troops to the Crimean War. Reverse with tombstone in green “Pkt Letter Liverpool Au 5 1855” and hexagonal Glasgow (Aug 6). The rate remained the same, but the carrier changed to Collins line (in this case). Other lines were also used.
